Explore Bulgaria: Hiking and Nature

Borov Kamak

Borov Kamak is a hike for those with an affinity for adventure. We drove all the way to the waterfall and hiked down it. From the top, we hopped the bridge to perch on a huge boulder set directly above the waterfall. This is dangerous and I wouldn’t explicitly tell anyone to do it - but it was awesome.

Down a series of jumbled steps, you can explore the bottom of this 63m (207 ft) waterfall. It is wet and slippery to run underneath the falls, but well worth the view!

Krushuna Falls

While three days of hard rain left this beautiful park of waterfalls full of dirt, the pools are a clear crystal blue at the end of a dry week. Even with brown water, these waterfalls were gorgeous and easier to hike to than Borov Kamak.

God’s Eyes

This site is a must see, and it does not require hiking to get there. It was incredible to see expert rock climbers navigate the curved sides of this natural wonder, but the view from the ground was good enough for me!

Rila Lakes

While unfortunately it was too rainy and foggy for me to venture on this trail, I have heard incredible things about this well-known and intense hike. When I return to Bulgaria, I will be headed directly here!
